Delete your FlipPilot account
Last updated 23 October 2026
You can delete your FlipPilot account, and the information we hold under it, whenever you like. The quickest way is inside the app. If you can't use the app, email us and we will do it for you.
The short version
- In the app: Settings, then Account, then Delete my account. It happens straight away.
- Can't get into the app? Email support@flippilot.co.uk from the address you signed in with, and we will delete the account within one month.
- Deleting is permanent. We can't bring anything back.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Pro subscription. If you pay for Pro, cancel it in Google Play as well. A business with a paid advert that is still renewing has to cancel that first (see section 6).
1. Delete your account in the app
- Open FlipPilot and tap the gear on the Home screen to open Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete my account. You only see it while you are signed in.
- Read the message and tap Delete my account again to confirm.
When it is done the app tells you, and any other phone you were signed in on is signed out too.
2. Can't use the app? Ask us by email
If you have uninstalled the app, lost your phone or can't sign in, email support@flippilot.co.uk with the subject "Delete my account". Please send it from the email address you used to sign in to FlipPilot, because that is how we know it is you. We may write back to check before we delete anything.
We will tell you when it is done, always within one month and usually much sooner.
3. What is deleted
Everything on our servers that is yours:
- Your account: your email address, your account ID, your sign-in codes, and every sign-in on every phone.
- Your Marketplace listings (cars included) with their photos, and the conversations on them.
- Your messages on other people's listings. Those conversations disappear for the other person too.
- Your seller profile (display name and any business name), the reviews about you, and the reviews you wrote. If a seller marked something as sold to you, the note of who bought it is taken off.
- If you advertise: your advertiser profile (business name, website, phone number, address, postcode and logo) and your adverts, with their words and pictures.
- The boot fairs and events you added, with their photos.
- Your scan credits and our record of how you earned and spent them, your Operation Nightglass progress, and your count of free scans used.
- Your eBay connection, if you made one. We disconnect it and delete our copy of its sign-in tokens.
- The feedback and "doesn't look right" price reports you sent, the list of people you have blocked, and which chats you have read.
4. What we keep, and why
- Reports you made about a listing, a person or an advert are kept for 24 months with your identity taken off. They can matter to a safety decision or to a legal claim about the person you reported. In the same way, reports other people made about you or your listings are kept for 24 months.
- A scrambled fingerprint of your account ID. It can't be turned back into the ID, and we keep nothing that connects it to you. It stops the same ID being used again to claim credits or purchases. For the same reason we keep the store's purchase reference numbers that have already been paid out (and, for a refunded purchase, its date and number of credits), with no name or account attached.
- What you paid us as an advertiser. What we were paid for an advert is a business record the law has us keep. For 6 years we keep only the business name, the amounts, the dates and the payment references: no wording, pictures or contact details.
- Backups. Our host takes a daily backup of our server's disk and keeps each one for at least seven days. Something you delete can stay in a backup for a short while, then it is replaced by newer ones. We only use a backup to recover from a disaster.
- Your email to us. If you ask for deletion by email, we keep that email and our reply for as long as we need to show that we dealt with it.
5. Things that aren't ours to delete
- Your phone. Your saved flips, photos and history are kept on your phone only, so deleting your account doesn't touch them. To remove them, clear FlipPilot's storage in your phone's settings, or uninstall the app.
- A car dealership you messaged. If it lists through FlipPilot Dealer OS, it keeps its own copy of what you wrote to it, which we can't delete. Ask the dealership.
- The companies that help us run FlipPilot keep what they keep under their own terms. For example, Resend keeps a log of the sign-in emails it sent for a limited time, and Stripe keeps its own records of card payments from businesses. They are listed in our Privacy Policy.
- Google Play (or the App Store) keeps its own record of any purchase you made.
6. If you pay for Pro, or advertise
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Google Play looks after that, and it keeps charging you until you cancel there. In Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose FlipPilot and tap Cancel subscription.
Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. If you delete your account before then, you lose what is left of that period, so you may prefer to cancel, wait for it to run out, and then delete your account. Any scan credits you still have are lost when the account is deleted.
If your business has an advert that is paid for and still renewing each month, we can't delete your account until you cancel it, because the monthly payment would carry on. Cancel it in the advertiser portal (api.flippilot.co.uk/advertise): that stops it at the end of the month you have paid for, and you can delete your account straight away. Or email support@flippilot.co.uk and we will help. Deleting the account ends any advert that is left, with no refund of a month already paid.
7. Want to remove some things but keep your account?
In Settings, under Your data:
- Download my data gives you a copy of everything we hold about you. It is worth doing first if you want a record, because deleted information can't be recovered.
- Delete my data removes your listings, messages, seller profile and reviews and boot fairs, and disconnects eBay. It keeps your account, your sign-in and your credits, and it doesn't touch an advertiser profile or adverts, which go when you delete your account.
8. If you simply stop using FlipPilot
An account nobody has signed in to or used for 24 months is deleted automatically, in the same way as if you had deleted it yourself, along with any credits on it. (A business whose paid advert is still renewing is kept until that ends.) How long each kind of information is kept is set out in the table in our Privacy Policy.
